About Evan Barclay
Evan is from Kansas City, Missouri, and is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute. His paintings mostly employ acrylic paint, as well as sparse use of oil paint, spray paint, and collage. His abstract art seeks to explore geometry, color, control, play, and material. These broad explorations often lead to paintings that discuss more personal topics, which can range from the tragic to the comedic. He is heavily influenced by modernist abstraction and his youth in the urban center of Kansas City.
